Midland oilfield and service fleets

Midland applicants can use a specific field assignment to choose between a straight service truck, tractor-trailer or specialized endorsement.

Is an oilfield CDL the same as a tanker endorsement?

Start with the vehicle class. Then ask the employer about the tank configuration, cargo and whether placards are required. Those details determine which separate endorsements to discuss with DPS before arranging equipment.

Find the right DPS location before booking equipment

When a Midland field rotation limits your dates, get the time off, the DPS appointment and the equipment reservation in writing before driving to Royse City.

Office suggestions use the listed locations near the starting city. Your appointment confirmation determines the actual test address. Get Your CDL Quick! provides its in-person vehicle services in Royse City.

Get an itemized quote for your trip

For an oilfield job, find out whether you will drive a service body, tow a heavy trailer or transport materials in a tank. Confirm the employer’s cargo endorsements separately from the vehicle class used for the skills test. Ask which rental charges apply to your test site, what fuel costs extra and whether your selection qualifies for separate complimentary behind-the-wheel ELDT.
